Malek is Averda’s CEO. A trained engineer, he joined Sukkar Engineering in 1994 and became CEO of the newly consolidated Averda Group in 2000, leading the company’s international expansion. Malek is a champion of a more sustainable approach to waste management and a founding member of the Platform for Accelerating the Circular Economy.
Peter is a seasoned corporate executive who spent many years involved in the management of large industrial organisations operating across Africa before joining Averda as COO in 2020. He heads up Averda’s global operations team as well as several vital support functions including IT.
Samir joined Averda in 2017. An engineering graduate originally, he holds an MBA in Finance and has decades of senior corporate finance roles, primarily in the global shipping industry.
Mazen has been with Averda since 2009 and is responsible for leading Averda’s business development, mergers and acquisitions. He has over 25 years of experience in commercial development across a variety of industries and emerging markets.
Bringing 18 years of HR strategy and business transformation experience, Lisa has designed and implemented solutions around the employee lifecycle for Fortune 50 organisations, as well as for SMEs in developed and emerging markets across diverse industries. Lisa has responsibility to lead Averda’s overall human resources strategy, drive a talent-focused company culture, and support the needs and aspirations of Averda’s 14,000+ employees.
Emma is a trained corporate lawyer with years of experience in cross-border corporate and commercial law. She leads Averda’s in-house legal team and sits on the Executive Committee advising senior management on Group strategy, legal risk and legal compliance, both with the law and with Averda’s own internal governance policies and procedures.
