Stemming the tide of one of the largest pandemics in recent history
The Covid-19 crisis has actioned a partnership between two of South Africa's foremost organisations to leverage their skills and resources to help ste.
Averda’s Al Ain branch project manager, Mohammad Merashly, said,
“These events are really important in helping to educate people, young and old, of the importance of looking after the environment and the world we live in. Our objective, in collaboration with Tadweer, is to encourage a joint sense of public responsibility to minimising waste, by increasing waste segregation at home and raising awareness of the benefits of recycling.”
The “Let’s Sort Together for a Better Environment” project was aimed at raising awareness of sustainable environmental practices, in order to encourage and promote recycling in Abu Dhabi. During the event at the Al Ain Mall, a number of programmes and activities were held, including interactive workshops, a competition to collect the biggest amount of recyclable waste, and a reading platform. The event ran from the 24th – 26th May.
