The “Clean C” team of 10 volunteers concentrated their efforts on the footpath area. They filled more than eight black bags of waste along the stretch. This collected refuse was safely disposed of by the waste management company Averda, in support of the Clean C team.

Greg Player, one of the founders of Clean C, thanked everyone who came to support them on the day. Player added “we can only uplift and build our communities if we involve them in everything we do. I would like to also thank the Averda team who assisted us on the day; this kind of teamwork and support is a great way of building pride and ownership in our communities.”

Clean C is a group of enthusiastic community development volunteers. Since 2008, their monthly beach clean-ups have helped clean over 50 tons of litter off the cape beaches. Find out more their work and planned events at https://www.cleanc.co.za/about-us-2/
