City of Tshwane assists in college campus cleanup

The City of Tshwane has agreed to aid Tshwane South College in their drive to keep its campus clean. The municipality has also partnered with the Mabopane Network Forum and Landfill Consult in this campus clean-up initiative.The city has helped to collect and remove litter from the college’s Odi campus and surrounding area near the Odi stadium. Illegal dumping sites were cleared and the waste was sent to the relevant waste management facilities.

City of Tshwane launches recycling campaign

The City of Tshwane aims to maintain the good working relationship with Tshwane South College going forwards. The municipality will also be launching a recycling initiative at the college campus, providing them with over 50 recycling bins.“The bins will be grouped in sets of three and placed at the identified blocks on the campus to promote a sustainable and environmentally-friendly institution,” says Tshwane member of the mayoral committee (MMC) for environmental and agriculture management Mike Mkhari.

Making an environmentally-friendly campus

Besides the recycling campaign and campus clean-ups, the City of Tshwane has also planted indigenous trees at the college campus.
