The acquisition of SWT alongside SharpMed, acquired in 2016, makes Averda one of the largest and most comprehensive end-to-end healthcare waste management business in South Africa.

The IFC - International Finance Corporation has provided Averda with a $30 million loan to support sustainable waste management in the Middle East and Africa.
